Description

[Reported today, February 20th 2023, at 10:14AM CET]

When I go to log in, once I have clicked 'log in' the button simply goes grey and the process halts. When I then try to reset my password I get the following error:

User is viewing the newest version i.e. with the new logo using a hard refresh, doesn't seem to be related to cache.
User has reported password reset email arrived, but still cannot login.

I just tried a password reset request with the users email, so they should receive a mail to reset the password. Hope it works. Will look a bit further to find the cause

Hi both, it's Lucy here. Thanks for this. I have tried resetting my password, and also using an incognito window - still no luck. It seems to stop as soon as I click 'log in'.

Lucy and I had a further chat yesterday to try and debug this. We had a look at her browser console to see if there was anything of use there. Snippets are as follows:

The payload being sent looked correct as well (not pictured since of course it contains credentials)

I'm left being suspicious that is is either to do with: CORS being misconfigured; an adblocker or similar extension; or perhaps something specifically altering network traffic

Lucy tried at home (rather than in her institution) and it also failed there. This means that assuming she wasn't connected to a VPN we can rule out something odd on her institution network

I've followed up with the user and given her some credentials for a test account I have confirmed can log in. Waiting to hear if that works

Specifically the attempt last night was on her phone at "20 Feb 2023 17:54:55" (I assume UTC)

I've followed up with the user and given her some credentials for a test account I have confirmed can log in. Waiting to hear if that works

This worked fine on Lucy's laptop. Guess there is something more specific to her account...

Today a password reset was successful, and I changed the account email address as requested from the user.
