Notification for pages marked for translation contains no information about what was changed
Closed, DuplicatePublicBUG REPORT

Description

Steps to replicate the issue (include links if applicable):

  • Add a page to your watchlist.
  • Wait for someone to mark it for translation.
  • Read the notification email.

What happens?:

The email contains no information about what happened. Looking at the history page also has no indication of what happened.

What should have happened instead?:

There should be some information about what actually changed. At least a link to the log where the change can be found.

Other information (browser name/version, screenshots, etc.):

Turns out that the change could be found on Special:Log, which is linked on the history page. However if you don't know that, there's no way to find it short of trying all links.

This is specifically for marking a page for translation, but I'm guessing that there are more cases that would yield a similar notification.

Event Timeline

I'm guessing that there are more cases that would yield a similar notification.

When a page is marked as reviewed, the same notification is given.

This is very confusing, even for someone like me who has been editing Wikipedia for a while now!
