Use the RealMe extension on a subpage of the user page
Open, Needs TriagePublicFeature

Description

Feature summary (what you would like to be able to do and where):

Create a way to use the RealMe extension on the subpage of the root user page (and possibly user talk page also).

Use case(s) (list the steps that you performed to discover that problem, and describe the actual underlying problem which you want to solve. Do not describe only a solution):

link from mastodon to a specific sub page of the user page.

Benefits (why should this be implemented?):

Mastodon allows up to four verification links that are displayed in the user profile page at Mastodon. A user active in for example french wikipedia and indonsian wikipedia could link to them global user page and to the pages id.wikipedia.org/User:user/mastodon and fr.wikipedia.org/User:user/mastodon so that Mastodon users could follow the link to the french, indonesian or global page at Wikipedia with information specific to edits in french, indonesian or global.

For me it would be practical as WMDE has issued business card to me, that contain a link to User.C.Suthorn/gallery. The same linke I also use in my Mastodon profile. Ii is also the link I use, when I ask insitituions or event hosts for image permissions.

I was kind of hoping someone else would chime in and explain why they also wanted this functionality because I'm struggling to come up with other use cases besides "I historically have always used this URL when sharing my work and it is printed on physical media too". That last part is rather convincing to me, and I can't think of any downsides either. So I'm inclined to implement this unless someone objects in the next few days (or whenever I get around to writing a patch).

Reedy assigned this task to Legoktm.
Reedy removed a project: Patch-For-Review.

Not fixed yet, my patch just addressed a subset of what was asked for. (But will keep assigned to me, I'll put up a patch "soon")
