I also created T342398: Create mechanism to allow the use of vanity domains by projects behind the Cloud VPS shared HTTP proxy as a place to track and discuss the desire for supporting custom domains at the dynamicproxy service, but I think that it would be counter productive to block this request based on some hope of implementing that. We should be able to recover the IP in the future if a shared proxy solution is implemented.

I've added quota for a floating IP to both projects, and when T342398 gets implemented we can talk about re-claiming those addresses and moving to a shared address.
