Description

Hello, we'd like to create a request form for the Research team. We tried creating a template but then linking/description gets too long and breaks in the comments.

Customization is as follows, we can hide the rest of the fields that are not mentioned here.

Priority: Needs triage (locked)
Subscribers: leila, miriam

Description:
Please provide the following information.

  • Context. Provide a short paragraph with some background context for your request, please include links to relevant material.
  • Description.What is your request about?
  • Expected Deliverable. What is the ideal outcome or result of your request?
  • Estimated Effort. Please provide an estimate of the amount of work needed to complete this task, if known.
  • Priority Please indicate a priority of this task and a small description of what it would unlock for you. We ask you to leave this task as “untriaged/needs triage” since your request will go through a Backlog refinement process where our team will prioritize the work. I need this task resolved in:
    • 1 month.
    • 3 months.
    • 6 months.
    • Whenever you get to it :-)
  • Other. Do you have any other questions or comments ?

We review incoming tasks in our backlog the second and lastTuesday of the month. We will review your task as part of this cadence and may get back to you with follow-up questions. You will hear from us about the next steps for your submitted task after we review it.

Please keep in mind that we currently have a high volume of tasks in the backlog and your request might not get prioritized right away. We appreciate your patience.

Event Timeline

Why subscribers, can a project not be added that anyone that needs is a member of?

Will the form be maintained and tracked if people leave? It's much more self service to do a project.

Just pre-filled the subscribers in order to alert the people accountable for triaging but it would be okay to add more or leave it blank, doesn't have to be locked. And yes, the form would be maintained as a part of our weekly reviews.

@Aklapper Thank you so much! Is there a way we could hide "story points" and "assigned to" fields?

I've hidden them via "Lock / Hide Fields" on https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/transactions/editengine/maniphest.task/view/120/ but I'm not entirely sure what that means for people who want to edit (!) them at some point in the ticket life cycle
