I noticed the ping VMs in esams haven't been (re)provisioned yet, which triggered an alert lint problem for their alerts due to missing data: https://alerts.wikimedia.org/?q=%40state%3Dactive&q=%40cluster%3Dwikimedia.org&q=name%3DPingOffloadMissingIP

Followup from IRC: it isn't clear whether ping offload should be fully rolled out everywhere (some PoPs are missing) or retired entirely, cc @cmooney @ayounsi

latest comment on T345809 and the merge from October 2023 sound like this is basically declined?

Closing this task as afaik we haven't seen any issue in esams, and the proper path forward is tracked in T367973: Replace ping offload servers with eBPF.
