Steps to replicate the issue (include links if applicable):
- Visual edit
- Click to place the mouse cursor at the end of "address the digital divide:[38]"
- The cursor jumps to the beginning of the paragraph instead of there (separate bug, but feel free to fix this here too)
- Click to place the mouse cursor at the end of "address the digital divide:[38]"
- Hold down shift, then click to place the mouse cursor at the end of "hinders the well-being of their population."
- Text correctly selects
- Press "delete" key
What happens?:
- Text unselects
- Cursor moves from end of former selection to beginning of former selection
- Text is not deleted
What should have happened instead?:
- Text is deleted
Software version (skip for WMF-hosted wikis like Wikipedia):
Other information (browser name/version, screenshots, etc.):
- Windows 10, Chrome 116.0.5845.141 (64-bit)
- The diff looks like a numbered list, but is actually indented using colons, and the numbers are manually typed.
