Open, Needs TriagePublicBUG REPORT

Description

Steps to replicate the issue (include links if applicable):

  • Visual edit
  • Click to place the mouse cursor at the end of "address the digital divide:[38]"
  • The cursor jumps to the beginning of the paragraph instead of there (separate bug, but feel free to fix this here too)
  • Click to place the mouse cursor at the end of "address the digital divide:[38]"
  • Hold down shift, then click to place the mouse cursor at the end of "hinders the well-being of their population."
  • Text correctly selects
  • Press "delete" key

What happens?:

  • Text unselects
  • Cursor moves from end of former selection to beginning of former selection
  • Text is not deleted

What should have happened instead?:

  • Text is deleted

Software version (skip for WMF-hosted wikis like Wikipedia):

Other information (browser name/version, screenshots, etc.):

  • Windows 10, Chrome 116.0.5845.141 (64-bit)
  • The diff looks like a numbered list, but is actually indented using colons, and the numbers are manually typed.
