Objective of the task: Create a JavaScript script to manipulate a json object and print it in a human legible format.

  3. Change the variable YOUR NAME to your identification (it doesn't need to be your real name).
  4. Based on the input provided, create and write your javascript code below the YOUR CODE HERE mark.

    2. e.g. Article "André Baniwa" (Page ID 6682420) was created at September 12, 2021.
  6. Commit your HTML file to GitHub and send us a link to it (by email, on our talk page, or replying to this tickect, as you prefer).

Hello, has anyone been able to translate the page with the list of recommended proposals? I'm trying to go through the list but i've not been able to successfully translate the page. Kindly advise

Hey @Salwoch, to translate the page for the list of recommended proposals, you can use a translator to do that. That’s what I did.

Hello everyone.
This is the link to Task 1: https://github.com/QUIN04/wikimedia/tree/Task1.

On working with Javascript. While working on this task, I learned how to use a "for loop" specifically the "for .... of " loop which is used for iterations that do not require index access to contents in an array.
I faced difficulties in handling the errors I got from my code. This gave me the opportunity to research and use StackOverflow, which I suggest that we all consider as a learning tool when we face errors in our code.

Hello Mentors @Mike_Peel @Albertoleoncio @Ederporto , Please review my contribution to this task. Kindly find the GitHub Repository Link here for Task-1.
Thank you.

Feedback: @PaulaGweke Your output is slightly different from the requested. I suggest you look at the toLocaleDateString method.

Good morning,

Here is my contribution to this task:

Kindly find the link Here.

Thank you

Feedback: @Oghenekevbe Your output is different from the requested. Please, read the requested format of the output in the instructions. Also, you need to change the YOUR NAME variable in all its occurences. I recommend you to look at Date objects and toLocaleDateString method.

Hello Mentors @Ederporto @Mike_Peel @Albertoleoncio , I'd like to submit my contribution to this task for your review. Kindly take a look at it here . I'm looking forward to your feedback.

Alwoch Sophia

Feedback: @Salwoch Your output is slightly different from the requested. Please, check the requested format again and adjust. The date appears in Portuguese for me, which tells me that there's an error with the toLocaleDateString, please check that. Besides that, good job documenting your code.

Hello, I'm Chiemezuo, but you could call me 'Mezuo' for short. Here's my submission for task 1 (the HTML task)

https://github.com/Chiemezuo/outreachy-wikimedia-intern-task/blob/main/Task%201%20-%20Intern.html

Feedback: @Mezuo Although your output works, I'm afraid that the dateConverter function to be a bit complicated. If I want the date in Spanish, for example, I'd have to put the months in spanish in it. I recommend to look at toLocaleDateString method.

Greeting, my submission for this task:

  1. Commit URL
  2. GitHub Repository Link

Feedback: @FeverCode Your output is slightly different from the requested. The date appears in Portuguese for me, which tells me that there's an error with the toLocaleDateString, please check that.

Feedback: @04-000000000000061 Although your output is right, your code has some things I would like for you to fix: the lack of indentation and the unecessary ""Data"" variable.

Feedback: @Spykelionel Although your output works, I'm afraid that the way you catch the date is a bit complicated. If I want the date in Spanish, for example, I'd have to put the months in spanish in it. I recommend to look at toLocaleDateString method.

Hello mentors!
Here's my solution to Task 1.

Feedback: @Kate-bagenzo Your repository is missing. Couldn't evaluate. Please, fix that.

Feedback: @Shashi.coding Your output is slightly different from the requested, please take a took at the instructions and adapt. Updates: Hi, @Ederporto! I hope this message finds you well. I wanted to thank you for providing feedback on my previous task. I truly appreciate your guidance and suggestions.

Based on your feedback, I have made the necessary modifications to the code. Instead of relying on a complicated method to catch the date, I have implemented the toLocaleDateString method. This allows for easy localization of the date format, enabling users to obtain the date in their preferred language, such as Spanish.

I would be grateful if you could review my task again and provide further guidance or suggestions if needed. Your expertise and insights have been invaluable in helping me improve my skills, and I am eager to learn from your feedback.

Here's the task: https://github.com/spykelionel/wiki-lusophone.git

Thank you once again for your time and support. I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Best regards,

Spyke Lionel

@Spykelionel Almost there. If you review your code, there's a strange "undefined" parameter to the toLocaleDateString, please read its documentation to understand the parameters. Also, please put your script inside the "task_id" script tag, that's part of the instructions. Cheers,

Thank you very much for providing feedback on my submission. I have made the changes to my task file and have applied toLocaleDateString Method with proper commenting. It's my bad that my output had slight variations than expected output, so I have updated the code to provide expected output as well. Here is my updated commit link

I humbly request that you kindly review my code again and provide further feedback. I show my apology for any inconvenience caused.

Thank You !

Updates: I appreciate the feedback @Ederporto . I guess that happened because I'd set the Locales argument to undefined. I've changed that to English and that should have the date appear in English for you and in the required format. Kindly take a look here. Thank you

@Salwoch No, he must have meant that the output format does not match. Like the quotes and the fullstop.
The objective is to not restrict yourself to English. It's the "Lusophone" tech proposals project, after all.

Just to be clear - make sure to submit your contributions and final application on the Outreachy website before the deadline! It's fine to still include contributions there if they haven't been reviewed or if you've made changes since you last got feedback on them. But do make sure you submit your final application before the deadline!

Assuming this task is obsolete as Outreachy Round 27 has finished, thus closing.
