There is existing information in several docs about the file directory structure within Tool Accounts, file permissions, and how to work with files as a tool maintainer. I think there's enough content that this topic could have its own page, which would make the Tool Accounts page a bit less overwhelming, while still grouping information together in a way that makes sense.
Suggested content to move out of existing pages and into a new page:
- Information about per-project, private directories: https://wikitech.wikimedia.org/wiki/Help:Shared_storage#/data/scratch and other sections; with added content or formatting to make it easier to understand what is private, what is shared, and the intended uses for the directories.
- Information about file permissions and related errors or pitfalls, like https://wikitech.wikimedia.org/wiki/Help:Access_to_Toolforge_instances_with_PuTTY_and_WinSCP#Troubleshooting_permissions_errors
- https://wikitech.wikimedia.org/wiki/Help:Toolforge/Developing_successful_tools#Sharing_files_via_packages_or_version_control
