On Wikispecies and other wikis, the data in Special:LonelyPages has not been updated since 25 September

Description

On Wikispecies, the data in species:Special:LonelyPages (Orphaned pages) was last updated on 25 September 2023.

I checked other wikis, and the data in a number of them was also last updated on 25 September 2023, while in the others it was updated recently.

(a) last updated 25 September

(b) updated recently

Is this a bug or a change in the update frequency? According to a post at species:Wikispecies:Village Pump#Orphaned pages update, the data in species:Special:LonelyPages used to be updated twice a week. Thanks.

I'm wondering where this is defined... Cannot find anything obvious in https://gerrit.wikimedia.org/r/plugins/gitiles/operations/puppet/+/refs/heads/production/modules/profile/manifests/mediawiki/maintenance/updatequerypages/ but could imagine that it's monthly instead of twice a month.

Would also be useful to have a system message like querypage-updates-monthly displayed on the Special page to explain how often it's updated.

Looks like it's defined in https://gerrit.wikimedia.org/r/plugins/gitiles/operations/puppet/+/refs/heads/production/modules/profile/manifests/mediawiki/maintenance/update_special_pages.pp, which creates one periodic job per section.

All the wikis mentioned above are on s3 which according to systemd, is still running:

The job was restarted this morning by @taavi after being stuck for a while because it experienced the bug tracked in T348428: updateSpecialPages.php will try to re-connect to a DB indefinitely following a DB maintenance.

We fixed that problem. Next week run will update it. I resolve this please reopen if it's not fixed by then.
