GitLab account activation

To activate your account, please sign into GitLab and then answer the following questions:

Developer account / GitLab username:
- Wikimedia dev / Phabricator / Wikimedia : LD
- GitHub : LDWP
- GitLab : wpld

Reason for access - what projects are you planning to host or contribute to:
- for https://letaxobot.toolforge.org/
- host on https://gitlab.wikimedia.org/toolforge-repos/letaxobot which is equivalent to https://github.com/Hexasoft/taxobot

GitLab Admin checklist

This section is to be completed by a GitLab administrator.

- User has provided the following: developer account username and reasoning for access
- User has an existing developer account, and has used it to log in to GitLab

If any of the following criteria are met, user should be approved immediately:

- User is known to the admin
- User is vouched for by a known contributor
- User has a history of contributions on Gerrit, Phabricator, on-wiki, etc.
- User is a member of a movement organization

@LD: your Developer account record in the backing LDAP directory is missing an email address. This is likely fallout from the T339917: wikitech logins set the email address every time bug. Because your LDAP record is missing an email, your https://gitlab.wikimedia.org/wpld account is also missing an email. This will end up causing everyone problems until we get both records fixed.

I think that using https://wikitech.wikimedia.org/wiki/Special:Preferences to set your Developer account email address again, waiting about 5 minutes to ensure that the update from Wikitech replicates across the LDAP directory, and then logging in at https://gitlab.wikimedia.org/ should update the LDAP directory and then update the new GitLab account.

If you can try doing that dance and then report back here I would be more than happy to recheck the account status and enable it if things look correct.

@bd808 : Thanks. I set an email to wikitech. Everything's good in wikitech & https://toolsadmin.wikimedia.org/profile/settings/accounts/.

However, I can't log in gitlab since my account is blocked (Your account is pending approval from your GitLab administrator and hence blocked. Please contact your GitLab administrator if you think this is an error.).

I can try again in a few hours but it might not work since it needs approval.

I just took care of this part. You should be able to use gitlab.wikimedia.org now. Thanks for your patience with this mostly manual process and the normal end of year holiday time issues.
