Feature summary: The Wikimedia Project/Powered by MediaWiki badges are independent of the dark theme and always light. Perhaps that could be changed. I dunno.

Explanation

1. Went to Wikipedia
2. Selected 'dark mode' (by the way, the color section of the appearance sidebar should be instead be labeled 'theme' imo, but I digress)
3. Footer icons didn't change.

Benefits

1. Will save marginal amount of power on OLED (possibly quantum dot displays also). Therefore, this may result in marginally lower carbon emissions and save the Earth!
2. Will look better, as the white-on-dark stands out more than it should
