The English Wikisource community wishes to request the creation of a new namespace pair, Translation: and Translation talk:

Translation: namespace to have subpages, talk pages to default
Translation namespace will be content namespace (wgContentNamespaces)
Translation namespace to be added to default sort (wgNamespacesToBeSearchedDefault)

We wish to use a namespace that may be able to be reserved/stable for use across all the Wikisources, if they replicate what we have done. At the moment I see across the WSes, stuff all the way up to ns 113 in use on other WS ns, so advice on that from the tech community would be appreciated

I would think that we would probably want to steer clear of that then. This is for works in other languages than English that have been translated by Wikisourcers into English.

As far as I can see, this extension actually uses the name "Translations" (note plural).

I doubt that English Wikisource will ever need that extension anyway, so the risk of confusion is minimal.

110/111 are used for other purposes on ptWS and itWS, so they are not clear. Maybe it is a pipedream, though I would like to see some clarity (sanity?) to manage namespaces across WSes.

As far as I know, the Hebrew Wikisource is currently the only one to have such namespace.
Since namespace no. 110/111 are used for other purposes on the Italian and Portuguese Wikisources, my suggestion is to create the namespace at a number that is not used anywhere.

I'm gonna go with no. 114 for the new namespace and 115 for the corresponding talk page namespace.
