Description

Several OTRS tickets have suggested that we have a Google Toolbar-like
extension, for quicker finding of stuff, and for search-term highlighting via
buttons or something (I'm not entirely clear). I'm adding this here mainly at
Kate's request, and this isn't something I'm necessarily in favour of (nor
against, for that matter) - don't shoot the messenger. :-)

There will unquestionably be a search option and a link to the Main Page, but what about other options? I think a Special:Mypage, Special:Recentchanges and Special:Random would all be in order. And maybe 2/3 buttons to be customisable on the spot just by typing in the name of the page you want.

The Wikipedia toolbar could resemble Google Toolbar with options for chossing
different languages.

See [[mw:Universal_Language_Selector]] for this.

Given the lack of update for the last 7 years, I guess we can abandon this request. Toolbar used to be a lot of fun, nowadays I guess we could get people to get a javascript plugin or just make OTRS nicer / easier to use.

Being bold, I am closing this bug which is unlikely to receive any more update / interest.

This is not about OTRS, and I think it's not about the edit toolbar either, but rather about some evolution of the [[mw:Personal tools]].

Actually it resembles what some people in the design team are trying to do, but indeed this report is a bit too unclear to be useful.
