This was a regression in HEAD at some point. Fixed so it doesn't crash,
and now also avoids the duplicate version info display that it would
have had in 1.5. (So it looks same as 'diff=pref' on oldest rev.)

(Incidentally, there's no special software support for 'diff=cur'.
It's interpreted as diff=0&oldid=0...)
