Document specific USB stick install instructions for Windows
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

The basic steps are very similar for installing on Windows and a un*x platform, but there are small and subtle differences that should be explained in the README document. For example:

  • What commands to run in a cmd.exe shell versus a git-scm bash session
  • Directory mapping terminology differences between Windows and un*x
  • The need to install git

It would also be useful to Windows users to have README renamed to README.txt and stored with Windows newlines so that it will open in Notepad via double clicking and be readable.

Windows instructions should be kept in the same readme so that they do not drift from the un*x documentation.
