remove (was: Install) python-mysqldb on terbium
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

Hi,
Would it be possible to install the python-mysqldb[1] package on
terbium? I would like to use it in a script to collect statistics for
our "SUL audit"[2] and for future tasks related to SUL finalization.
Thanks!

the Audit script. Once the script is ready to deploy, i'll turn it into a
maintenance script class.

Hopefully I just wasn't on the CC and this has already been resolved,
but if not, can we get this handled as soon a possible? The work Kunal
is doing with this is needed for a lot more of the work on SUL
finalization. So if we need to find another way around this, we need
to know soon.
Thanks!

Coren merged https://gerrit.wikimedia.org/r/#/c/143831/ yesterday, and
I started running the script last night, so this can be closed now
(not sure how to do that from email).
Thanks!

re-opening to ask if we can remove this again. when setting up the equivalent of terbium in codfw i noticed this package being installed straight on the node level (meh). And i would like to either confirm we don't need it anymore, or move it to a role class so every mw maintenance server gets this (or not).

Dzahn renamed this task from Install python-mysqldb on terbium to remove (was: Install) python-mysqldb on terbium.Mar 25 2016, 5:23 PM

@Legoktm Ok, thank you for confirming. I removed the package from the maintenance server role.
