Aren't very common and short words (like "und" in German which is "and" in English) excluded by default?

Why can you search for und* which are about 20000 in titles and not for und which must be less?

In enwiki, it's "intitle:and" that is not working, while "intitle:und" does work.

(Educated guess, just to provide FriedhelmW some sort of an answer: Probably Aklapper is right and very common words are not indexed for titles [not for page texts, though]. But if you're using wildcards, an actual full text search has to be performed, so it doesn't matter the index skipped the words. If that's right, then either also index those common words for titles, as we do for page texts anyway, or perform a full text search if the user is searching for such a skip-word only.)
