Hacking: Coding without MediaWiki
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

Reach Jon Robson (jdlrobson) on Freenode webchat on the #wikimedia-mobile channel. This session is a fun session introducing you to the API and given you the opportunity to build whatever your brain can dream up!

Come join the readership team to brainstorm and build new reading interfaces on top of the MediaWiki API. We are keen to see what is possible and what currently isn't and come out of the session with some new ideas.

The only catch: you are not allowed to write a MediaWiki extension! :-)
Newbies to the world of Wikimedia are most welcome!

To whet your appetite here are some ideas on our minds:

  • Taking Wikipedia offline via a mobile web app
  • Visualisation of recent changes
