I must say I'm disappointed with the current progress, so I did some experiment on English Wikisource. I uploaded this file on English Wikisource (which is an exact copy of this file on Commons.

Thanks a lot. I've see bots are adding auto notifications here. Please notify here when it is fully deployed.
Will see whether the patch will solve this aging problem.

And now we have PDF files that have totally normal page thumbnails on Commons, yet have thumbnail problems on English Wikisource—see this index and the source file. The problem only worsens.

In File:Sabah, Sarawak and Singapore (State Constitutions) Order in Council 1963.pdf, all page thumbnails just won't appear after page 1 of the index (example). Similar problems happen to this another file.
I've found the problem re-occurred for some files again. In Index:Sabah, Sarawak and Singapore (State Constitutions) Order in Council 1963.pdf, all page thumbnails just won't appear after page 1 of the index (example). Similar problems happen for this another file.

Update: Some files are not affected. For example, take this page from the British North America Act 1867, and you'll find it's not squeezed.

When I was trying a few pages at another index, the page images are just gone, leaving a message "Failed to initialize OpenSeadragon, no image found." (see e.g. page 2). The file page also shows "Error creating thumbnail: Invalid thumbnail parameters" for the faulty pages.
I'm affected by this problem, and here are some more information:
- As part of the problem, the header and footer become excessively bloated;
- Previously the page editor should also adjust itself with different sizes of pages, now it is nonfunctional (i.e. I have to scale the size of the page editor manually to remove excessive spaces);
- It appears to be affecting English Wikisource only, at least the problem doesn't exist on Chinese Wikisource (example).
- The problem was discussed at English Wikisource. Some claimed this bus is in fact an intentional update. Is it true?

It appears that as of 13:44 UTC, FlickreviewR 2 is now running normally, and the pending files have been promptly reviewed. Perhaps it's time to close the task?

Update: As of 16:00 UTC+8, I can now access the file without problem in Hong Kong. Will like to hear if anyone elsewhere still has trouble in accessing the file?

It seems that everything is fine when the file was accessed in Germany.

Another update by a layman user: not only the page previews for PDF indices on Wikisource have been completely down for the past few days, but the bug also starts affecting page previews on Commons. Some of my latest uploads are completely unable to be previewed, yet everything is completely normal when I click into the involving PDF file. Not only that, OCR is also available to the affected pages.

As a normal user who know nothing about the subliminal coding, I'd like to report that the problem seems to be alleviated for the past few days. At least I don't need to push the button for some 10 or 15 times, and in general it only takes 2-3 times for Google OCR to identify the text. Did you changed something for the OCR gadget?

Not sure how these information are useful to you, but Soda suggest that my troubles in T338100 may relate to the same problem. From my experience all 3 OCR gadgets have the same problem as well.
