@Andrew glamwikidashboard.wmcloud.org is successfully running on cloud VPS
we have there a service that downloads mediacount dumps from here https://dumps.wikimedia.org/other/mediacounts/
but we sometimes get 403 (probably due to too many requests)
I see there way to mount the dumps to the vm through NFS (read it here: https://wikitech.wikimedia.org/wiki/Help:Shared_storage#.2Fpublic.2Fdumps)
but I should request access for it, is it through you?

@Olea we couldn't find a way to move the custom domain to Cloud VPS, so for now we stick with https://glamwikidashboard.wmcloud.org/

hi everyone, I'm happy to share we finally moved the dashboard to Cloud VPS
https://glamwikidashboard.wmcloud.org/
a quick question, how we can set our own DNS record to route to that instance?

@Andrew can we get a floating ip for our project?
So logging out and in did the work, but now the right sidebar is not working (the lists are empty), but we can access the links by putting them in the url
is it a known bug? we were able to reproduce it with two users on Ubunutu with chrome
UPDATE - we fixed it by restarting the computer

thanks @Andrew. I added a contributor to the openstack project through Project Access as member, reader (added their wikimedia tech username), but they can't create new instances, how can I provide permissions for them for the project?

@Andrew any known issue with db replication? or maybe I missing were it should appear?
Jan 5 2023
@Andrew I created a db instance with a replica, but I don't see the replica created. what am I missing?
attaching a screenshot

@Andrew I still need the quota specified, especially the disk space for the db instances. I can start with 2 db instance of 200GB each (one main and one a read replica), if it makes it easier

@Andrew I will try to use the new service you shared, if it won't work I will try to spin up postgres instances my self.
does horizon support any kind of infrastructure as code?
Dec 11 2022
@Andrew thank you, I managed to log in and see the project

@Andrew I have a user in toolforge under the username Ybendahan, should I create a new account with "Yonatan.Bendahan" username?
Dec 6 2022
I will need some load balancing and auto scaling for the web facing app (nodejs), so a a floating IP could work, or using Kubernetes and the just have one ip for the service.
Not sure about the DNS, if it will make things complicated compered to having a subdomain, I could just redirect users to the new subdomain.

Is there a way to query the commonswiki_p database without ssh tunneling or without running the code on the VPS?
We are doing it through aws ec2 instance
thanks

It is a copying typo, in the code it is written correctly
It is now working, thank you :)
The ssh port forwarding was something else, changed it to your suggested host and it works
I guess in my second run I didn't restart the ssh connection
thanks!
Thank you for the quick reply.
I'm connecting though nodejs mariadb pacakge, it looks like this:
const mariadb = require('mariadb'); mariadb.createConnection({ host: 'locahost', port: 3306, user: 'uXXXXX', password: 'XXXXXXXXXXXX', database: 'commonswiki_p' });
I'm opening an ssh tunnel to before, with the following config:
Host wmflabs HostName tools-dev.wmflabs.org User my_user Port 22 IdentityFile path_to_key LocalForward 3306 commonswiki.analytics.db.svc.wikimedia.cloud:3306
my_user and path_to_key are not the actual values.
