Automoderator should not revert sysops
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

Although the Revert Risk model should almost never classify a sysop edit as vandalism, we want to be extra sure and simply never take action on an administrator. We can check the editing user's user groups for membership of the sysop group - this is used across all wikis to denote administrators.

Acceptance criteria

  • Automoderator should no longer revert edits by users in the sysop user group.

Event Timeline

It might be worth considering as a future feature of some sort having automoderator hook into the incident report system (or roll it's own, whatever) and sending a warning or notice SomeWhere when an admin trips a mark that would have been reverted.

This is a nice idea. We should probably do a quick data check to see how frequently Revert Risk even considers an admin edit to be damaging - I assume it isn't common.
