unshorten is not finding redirects from some urls

Description

These urls are giving us 404s, however, the browser is able to redirect us correctly.

In the doi example, we're given a page telling us the doi is incorrect; it may be that the browser itself is correcting the url encoded slash that's causing the problem. So I think we just have to solve T106234

Nature.com is more of a puzzle- thus far I've tried letting it set a cookie (might not be a bad idea anyway)- I think this might just be a duplicate of T1380.
