In the past typing spaces in the beginning of a paragraph in VE would add these spaces in <nowiki>. AFAIK, this stopped in early August and since then these spaces are supposed to be just discarded. This indeed seems to still work, but <nowiki> with spaces is added when one the wiki syntax there's only one line break.

This is a VE edit. I don't even know how is it possible to add only one line break between paragraphs in VE, but the fact is that it happened in this edit. Possibly the real problem is that VE somehow allows this, and should just always force two line breaks between paragraphs.
