I think you mean July? August numbers are in line with most previous months, while July had a growth of 20-70 million views for each sister project compared to the previous month.
It's not uncommon to see +600 % month-over-month variations in those stats, e.g. https://lists.wikimedia.org/pipermail/wikiquote-l/2011-August/000134.html . Wikiversity and Wikinews show the biggest fluctuations in percentage because their absolute numbers are so low.
Yes, I mean July. Aug 2011 was a botnet, with 5% of overall page views from less than 100 ip addresses, requesting Random Page (very nifty way to keep us busy).
