VisualEditor should warn the editor when a newly added template parameter would also add <nowiki>
Closed, DeclinedPublic

Description

One of the frequent reasons for VisualEditor adding <nowiki> in the Hebrew Wikipedia is that a user edited template parameters and wrote invalid wiki syntax, for example [[link]. This happens several times every day.

It would be nice to warn the user when such a thing is about to happen. It's very rare that the adding of nowiki is intentional.

How on Earth do you expect VisualEditor to know this?

Is it really impossible? When an article is being saved, you can see a diff, and you can clearly see a <nowiki> there. Can't it do something like that while adding template parameters?
