Dropdown diffs of last edits in Special:Watchlist
Closed, DuplicatePublic

Description

This has been implemented in Crosswatch. (https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Crosswatch)

It should be incorporated into Special:Watchlist too. It is revolutionary, and will make it easier to edit more. If editors can edit more in the same period of time, then that can help maintain the number of active editors (5 or more edits per month):

I've previously suggested (on the talkpage there) that it should be a gadget, and he's willing to maintain it as such, but he says it needs testing (I would guess for security/performance) before it's ready to be a gadget.

Beyond that, I also agree with this wishlist item, that it would be good to incorporate this feature as an option and/or default of mediawiki core's watchlist. I personally use navpopups a bit more than this commonhistory script, but both are useful, particularly because of the 1 vs 2 column diffs.

Aklapper renamed this task from Dropdown diffs of last edits to Dropdown diffs of last edits in Special:Watchlist.Mar 16 2020, 4:39 PM
Aklapper added a project: MediaWiki-Watchlist.

Is this essentially the duplicate of T53958: Watchlist and recent changes should be able to show diffs inline (which includes recent changes, but that's essentially the same page anyway)?
