Lately I am practically unable to select a language from the dropdown at the describe step of Special:UploadWizard . Usually I would just type the first letters of the language but somehow that always fails with the new dropdown: for instance I typed "ingl" and "Hawaii" got selected. I also can't use arrow keys to move from "italiano" to "inglese", or at least I always fail to do so. Moreover when I click the dropdown I have to manually scroll all the way down to the current selection instead of finding myself where I am. I am very tempted to not select a language, every time, and instead I spend tons of time scrooooooooooooooooooooooollling aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaal the way down to my selection. Extremely annoying.

There is actually a surprisingly simple explanation: you had your mouse cursor idly hovering over the list and for some reason, when you pressed "Enter" to confirm your selection of "ingl", it instead confirmed your mouse selection of "hawaiano". I've had it happen to myself a few times before I realized. This is definitely an unexpected behavior. Filed as T125740.
I also can't use arrow keys to move from "italiano" to "inglese", or at least I always fail to do so.
My psychic powers fail here. You might be hovering your mouse over the list and it goes crazy here too.
Moreover when I click the dropdown I have to manually scroll all the way down to the current selection instead of finding myself where I am.

@Nemo_bis There were a few fixes for various keyboard accessibility issues with the dropdowns last month. Do you still experience this problem on https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Special:UploadWizard?
I'll update this report next time I happen to upload a file. I believe in natural tests. :)
I see you uploaded a few files recently with UploadWizard (https://commons.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?title=Special:Contributions&dir=prev&offset=20160325151651&limit=4&contribs=user&target=Nemo+bis&namespace=6&newOnly=1) and I'm glad to hear you found the experience satisfactory. :)
I noticed that when I type the language name I don't usually realise the language was found, because the check mark stays in the default/previous selection and the language name I typed just changes background colour a bit (to a minimally stronger shade of blue, IIRC). So every time I have to
- force myself to check the dropdown colours carefully,
- notice which language currently has a different colour,
- press enter to confirm the selection and continue.
This is a very strange dropdown experience for me, I'm used to just have my selection performed when I type the correct name, without pressing enter, so that I can just proceed with tab or whatever.
