Please add archives.gov to $wgCopyUploadsDomains
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

Files in the archives.gov domain come from the US National Archives, which has an online catalog (catalog.archives.gov) and API (catalog.archives.gov/api/v1). Most files are in the public domain, and their copyright is generally marked with the "use restriction" field in their catalog, records, such as this one: https://catalog.archives.gov/id/299685

I would like to experiment with GWToolset on beta using NARA media files. Thanks!

Deployed, it works well, but your example is probably a poor example for the GWToolset, as they are divided in a lot of small files

Thanks @Dereckson. I linked to the catalog record, which does have tiled images for dynamic zoom in the UI. However, the download link (and media URLs in API outputs) contains a regular media file (e.g. https://catalog.archives.gov/OpaAPI/media/299685/content/arcmedia/media/images/40/7/40-0678a.gif).

Do you know what the process is to have this deployed on the Wikimedia Commons Beta? Does it just take a bit longer?

I've deployed it directly and tested on Commons in production.

The configuration seems shared for this setting, but I imagine some new config deployment step must be done, I'm inquiring about that.

An automatic configuration update takes place a little after the config change.

It should so soon be available.
