Enable Reviewer, autoreviewer and rollback rights in Kazakh Wikipedia
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

Please enable Reviewer, autoreviewer and rollback user rights in the Kazakh Wikipedia (kk.wikipedia.org) like in Russian Wikipedia per discussion: https://kk.wikipedia.org/wiki/%D0%A3%D0%B8%D0%BA%D0%B8%D0%BF%D0%B5%D0%B4%D0%B8%D1%8F:%D0%A4%D0%BE%D1%80%D1%83%D0%BC/%D0%A2%D0%B5%D1%85%D0%BD%D0%B8%D0%BA%D0%B0%D0%BB%D1%8B%D2%9B#.D0.9F.D0.B0.D1.82.D1.80.D1.83.D0.BB.D0.B8.D1.80.D0.BE.D0.B2.D0.B0.D0.BD.D0.B8.D0.B5_.2F_Reviewing

  1. All sysops must automatically have Reviewer and autoreviewer rights (there edits to reviewed pages must be marked as "reviewed automatically").
  2. Reviewing must be enabled like in Russian Wikipedia.

If you have further questions, feel free to ask.

Update 2016-03-18: The rollback part has been deployed.

Event Timeline

About the rollback right.

What group should be able to add users to the rollback group?

About Flagged Revisions deployment.

In T58408, ce.wikipedia requested to enable Flagged Revisions like ru.wikipedia.

I'm not comfortable with the format of the discussion: some short arguments have been exposed, and then 13 contributors support the motion, without any comment/thought about the whole impact of Flagged Revisions on the contributions workflow.

What problem are you trying to solve with Flagged Revisions?

Dereckson triaged this task as Medium priority.Mar 15 2016, 12:13 AM

[ I'm currently prioritizing the task as normal, with the intent it's for the rollback part. ]

I don't know. The sysops from kkwiki asked me to help with the prosess, because they don't know how to do it. I said that they should organize a discussion. The sysops said that the wiki is growing and it's time for trusted users to review edits of other users because of high activity.

About the rollback: sysops should be able to add users to this group.

Dereckson lowered the priority of this task from Medium to Lowest.Mar 17 2016, 3:39 PM

[ Decrease priority to reflect the current state of deployment of Flagged Revisions on new wikis. This doesn't apply to the rollback part, which will be deployed this evening. ]

Thanks. What about flagged revisions? They don't enable them now days?

Indeed, we are currently somewhat reticent for new Flagged Revisions deployments.

We are also willing to support wikis to find better solution for problems like spam, vandalism or more generally non constructive edits.

The best way for that would be to ask the community what concrete problems they currently face.

I see:) What kind of new revisions are they?

AbuseFilter gives particularly good results to detect a specific edit pattern (e.g. death announcement, long term vandalism with edits always the same way, etc.)

Dereckson claimed this task.

I mark this task as resolved as we've done in T130215 the rollback part, and there is already T97665 to discuss Flagged Revisions.
