We still might want to highlight this explicitly, but I would not rush to implement this. Let's wait for feedback from real users.
True. I think a much needed feature would be listing of recent issues somewhere on the newsletter main page!
The default list orders the current-user-subscribed-newsletters first and then the other newsletters. I don't think it's in accordance with the number of subscribers. Anyways, this feature can wait.
You are right, I thought the second criteria was number of subscribers, but after playing a bit more now I see that this is not the case.
Still, Kaity's idea about sortable columns (T116353#2175737) might be better, because this would allow users to just click the Subscribers column if this is what they want.
