Date: 3 June 2016
Time: 12:30 UTC
Type: Mumble/Skype, since we have talk about the first measurable/outcome (fallback: Chat on IRC channel #gsoc-catimages)
Description: 6th meeting to discuss the projects progress, review Week #2 outcome and fix the plan
Agenda:
- Prepare for review and comment on the outcome of Week 1 & 2 by the end of this week
- Consensus on plan and timeline: we have now the outcome of Week 2 (!)
- Project Plan, second 50%
- Outcomes/Measurables to be finished (and redefined)
- Milestones
- Have to have separate meeting soon about handling non-pip packages. Open Questions?
- Brief status report of the video copyright project (jayvdb)
Minutes of the Meeting:
- check bot work at https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/User:AbdealiJKTravis/logs (fantastic!)
- not necessary but possible to get bot flags
- need good categories to test the bot on (like DBs), e.g. faces?
- for 2nd halve of GSoC period agreed on 2 fold strategy: strict goals on that the bot should be installable and runnable, sloppy/non-strict goals/policy on the technologies to use and include since that is harder to predict
- have beta testers, e.g. 10 users
- go to https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/WikiConference_India_2016 and beta-test as well as advertise the work
- thus check commons india for sysops and other users that also join the conference as beta-testers
- need to contact organizer in order to make sure funding of travel is priorized
- review and testing of code can start, install through pip locally or on travis, report bugs to github
- discussed generally about oucomes - notes added to proposal page in brackets
- considering using http://ironpython.codeplex.com/ for integration of .NET with python for the video copyright code
