Wording: Adding Wikipedia Article to Item
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

Story: As a user I want to link the Item to the corresponding Wikipedia Article.

Workflow: I must select the language of the Wikipedia I want to link; then I add the page title.

Problem: The wording is ambiguous. It uses "Site" (Which refers to a whole website, like German Wikipedia) and "Page" (Which refers to a single page, like an article). While these terms are technically correct, they are unlikely to match what users call the things that should put in there.

Suggestion:
Using more descriptive titles, that directly suggestion what can be put in. This may be
language and article name

Change 297254 had a related patch set uploaded (by Thiemo Mättig (WMDE)):
Rename "site" placeholder to "wiki"

After talking with @thiemowmde:

  • language and article name would not work in all cases.
  • Maybe Site could be "project" or "Wiki"?

If we allow pasting a string which will be formatted to the Site/Page

  • Allow different URL formats
  • Allow the "lang:page" format
