thumbor/derpconf should default to loading *.conf from config directory
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

ATM thumbor/derpconf (the component that loads thumbor's config) default to loading all files found in the config directories, this can lead to surprises when e.g. dpkg-{old,new} files are found. The default IMO should be *.conf glob, configurable of course.

Event Timeline

Orphaning the task, since it's a low-priority improvement of the upstream. Not a requirement for production deployment.

Gilles changed the task status from Open to Stalled.Sep 26 2017, 11:18 AM

Change merged. Not sure this is worth bumping the upstream Debian package for.

Probably not, we can wait the next upgrade

@fgiunchedi would it be ok for production to pin that particular package to testing/unstable, or do we need to have it ported over to stretch-backports?

@Gilles a stretch-backports upload I think would be preferrable since it shouldn't be much work, e.g. all dependencies are already in stretch anyways. I can assist with that of course (packaging and the actual upload)

Alright then, whenever you have time, please do.

Uploaded to jessie and stretch backports. The latter is NEW so it might take a while to appear/get approved:
