Although I edited a page, I still see a previous old unedited version.

Hello,

I found this problem after I edited a page, http://http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Doosan.
At first, I edited from an original page of “doosan.” When I finished editing, I wanted to check if it works from other computer. The problem is that I couldn’t have the same result that I had from my computer. (From other computers) The problem is that if I search for “doosan” I get a result of old unedited version of doosan page. But, if I search for “doosan group” I get a result of new edited version that I just completed. Also, a strange thing is that I don’t see any problem with my computer. Either I search for “doosan” or “doosan group” I have the result of the new edited version. And when I asked to my friend to try, she had the same previous problem, getting a different result when searched for “doosan” and “doosan group.” However, when she logged in, the problem disappeared. She could see new edited version regardless of typing “doosan” or “doosan group.”

I know that my explanation is somewhat confusing, (I apologize for that), but it seems like that there is a bug.

I will be greatly appreciated if you could help me to solve this problem!

Thank you, Thank you,

Best regards,

Cindy Kim

Let me get this straight: different search terms ("doosan" vs. "doosan group") turn up different revisions of the same page for anonymous users, but not for logged-in users?

Do we cache Lucene search results somewhere? Is it possible for an outdated search result (i.e. page has been edited since) to get stuck? (It seems that's what happened here.)

Mass close WONTFIX open Lucene Search issues because extension Lucene Search was removed, and replaced by MWSearch. Please set to REOPENED if behaviour still exists with a another component, and update the domain.

Mass REOPEN after discussion with Robert. Domain: Wikimedia/lucene-search-2. Assigned to maintainer.

Marking WONTFIX as lsearchd has reached its end of life. This was a problem in lsearchd due to one of two things:

  1. We only updated indexes daily
  2. We cached search results in memcached

Neither are the case with the new Cirrus, so won't need revisiting there.
