- turn off "Enable enhanced editing toolbar"
- open random page
- choose "edit source"

tested on enwiki and mediawiki sites.
for this test, i used my "throwaway" account, with empty personal JS pages.
before conducting the experiment, i executed "Restore all default settings (in all sections)"
NOTE: for case 1, occasionally, the "old" toolbar blinks, and is then replaced with the "enhanced" toolbar.
