Open Knowledge Maps & Wikidata & ContentMine = better maps, better data
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

We want to create a proof-of-concept of how automatically extracted facts from ContentMine can improve knowledge maps created by Open Knowledge Maps. The knowledge structures created will in turn be added to Wikidata to improve the overall knowledge base and allow for collaborative editing.

Concrete steps that we want to take for the proof-of-concept:

  1. Create a base map for a topic (e.g. zika virus)
  2. Use ContentMine to extract all facts for the papers in the map
  3. Re-run the map with additional facts
  4. Compare maps
  5. Use top label for a cluster as main topics for papers on Wikidata

Event Timeline

The content of the fact extraction is now available on the wikifactmine labs project elasticsearch cluster. See http://elasticsearch-01.wikifactmine.eqiad.wmflabs/wikifactmine-facts-custom for the facts. You need to be inside labs to get to this (e.g. on tool labs)
