This may be the same problem as T176917: Captions not showing when you insert an image.

Steps to reproduce:

1. Edit a page that contains an image, with a caption, in the visual mode.
2. Drag the image to a different location.
3. Notice that the caption no longer displays.

The alt text and caption still exist when you save the page. It's just not displaying correctly.
