After rMWeb6bb6b7b979, it’s possible to remove thousands separator for 4-digit numbers, which is also how Hungarian numbers should be written. (Except if written in a right-aligned column with larger numbers, but I can’t imagine where could that appear in MediaWiki software.)

Question is, do we prefer numbers to be wrong in tables, or everywhere else?
(I guess in theory {{formatnum}} could accept a parameter for which style to use but it seems very impractical. Ideally this kind of thing would be handled in CSS; there was a CSSWG proposal a long time ago but did not go anywhere.)
I think, as a very small percentage of formatted numbers appears in tables, that using the non-table formatting is better. For tables, wikis can use custom templates (as they are already present in the other way).
