Description

Today I kept receiving this message while trying to sign into my account "User:Donald Trung" on Wikimedia Commons (through the mobile UploadWizard sign in page):

I first attempted signing in using the Ecosia browser and then Google Chrome, my wife's cell.-phone runs the latest version of Google Android and all browsers are up to date, this issue doesn't manifest in Microsoft Edge on my Microsoft Lumia 950 XL phablet.

Event Timeline

They are probably problematic cookies, which happens from time to time. Can you try cleaning cookies from your browser ?
Go to menu (top right corner), settings, privacy, clear browsing data, and keep only cookies/site data as checked, then validate and retry to log in.
If this solves the problem, I'm afraid there's nothing more we can do.

I checked, didn't work. 😟 Also this happens on multiple browsers.

Please see and follow https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Manual:How_to_debug/Login_problems and report back here. Thanks!

I hit this same bug today. It affected me when using the mobile interface and when logging into *.wikimedia.org. I was able to log into ENWP, then navigate to meta.wikimedia.org, then switch to the desktop interface. That sequence let me log into Meta successfully.

@Pine 🌲, here's the issue with me, this bug started when I attempted to sign into my wife's LG K10 (2017) on mobile, then the next day I couldn't sign in exclusively to the mobile version of Wikimedia Commons, I am signed into every other Wikimedia wiki (both in the mobile 📱 and desktop environments), I would make another account to test it but as I'm afraid that the SUL will automatically make accounts at wiki's where I don't want to have accounts will have me banned. So I can't test if this issue only affects this particular username, however it affects every device and internet browser I use. ☹

Unfortunately closing this report as no further information has been provided.

@DonTrung: After you have provided the information asked for in T198515#4327039 and if this still happens, please set the status of this report back to "Open" via the Add Action...Change Status dropdown. Thanks!
