[REQUEST] SDC metrics through Dec 31 2019
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

What's requested:
Calculate the SDC metrics in T231952: [REQUEST] SDC metrics through Dec 31 2019.

Why it's requested:
So we can use the numbers in the final grant report.

When it's requested:
End of Jan 2020 so they can be included in the report being written in Feb.

Other helpful information:

Event Timeline

@Abit I understand the dump for this is delayed, and Morten is still out. Can you speak to the urgency & whether there are alternatives?

We could maybe delay a week and plug the numbers into an already-written draft, but that risks having to rewrite something in a fire drill because the numbers weren't what we guessed. If your team can set aside a day the second week of Feb for a potential fire drill, we might be able to delay a week. Since the report needs to go through rounds of internal review, it needs to be ready to review before the 3rd week of Feb.

It would be helpful to have a table of the metrics and the status of each--I can't for the life of me remember what we need the dumps for.

@Abit During our discussion on 12-10-2019, we had informed that information about properties started getting added to page history only from Aug 2019. Due to this, the numbers provided in our analysis for metric "1. Quarterly comparison of metadata on files with a common template, such as the information template and artwork template " considered data only from Aug to Nov 2019. For the numbers from Jan thru Dec 2019 we will need the dump for analysis.
Also, we currently do not have Template metadata information in the datasets we use. Getting the dump opened up the possibly of being able to do a metadata comparison. (though we need to vet the idea and complexity of doing it)

@Abit and @Ramsey-WMF : I'm wondering what the status of this task is now? From what I can tell, this work is connected to the final report, and if that's done we can go through and resolve this task (and the other related ones as well). If we need a meeting to go through them and discuss, I'm of course happy to do so too.

@Abit and @Ramsey-WMF marking this as resolved; please let me know if we need to reevaluate
