Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

Please give me access to the 'wmf' LDAP group. I am a full-time WMF employee (Senior Communications Manager, Communications Department).

Thank you!

@Lookd_Up: Hi and welcome! https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/p/Lookd_Up/ is currently not linked to an account created by WMF Office IT, which makes it hard to verify this request... Please also see https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/tag/ldap-access-requests/ for required information, for example the username of your account.

@Varnent: If WMF Communications has an Onboarding guide, could you please make sure that this item links to https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/project/profile/1564/ and that people use a SUL wiki account created by WMF Office IT? Thanks a lot! :)

Hi @Aklapper: Thanks for your quick reply! And apologies for not making this request using my WMF account.

Would it be best for me to delete this request and submit another using that account?

You should be able to just edit the task to add the information from your WMF account.

Hi, @jbond, @Aklapper, @RhinosF1, and @Varnent: This is my Wikimedia account. My username orginally was LDickinson (WMF), but MediaWiki required me to remove the parentheses and the space. I added this account as a subscriber to this task, but I don't know how to change the task creator (from Lookd_Up to LDickinsonWMF).

Can you let me know if this suffices?

Here are my responses to the other questions:

  • Shell access: No
  • Purpose: Need access to Matomo (Piwik) for metrics
  • Group: N/A, maybe staff?

Please let me know if there are additional questions. Thanks!

You can't change the creator of a task.

I think it's "wmf"

Change 574093 had a related patch set uploaded (by Dzahn; owner: Dzahn):
[operations/puppet@production] admins: add Lauren Dickinson to ldap_only_admins (wmf)

https://gerrit.wikimedia.org/r/574093

Change 574093 merged by Dzahn:

done! i added "ldickinson" to the "wmf" LDAP group and the patch above to go with it.

@Lookd_Up It should work now. The phabricator user name is different but the credentials you use on Wikitech wiki should now also work for Piwik. Let us know if any issues.

@Aklapper fwiw, i checked on the _corp_ LDAP servers and i could verify:

title: Senior Communications Manager
employeeType: Full Time
...

Thanks, everyone! Sorry it took me forever to reply and say that :) I appreciate your help.
