About Me

Tell us about a few:

  • Your education (completed or in progress)
  • How did you hear about this program?
  • Will you have any other time commitments, such as school work, another job, planned vacation, etc, during the duration of the program?
  • We advise all candidates eligible for Google Summer of Code and Outreachy to apply for both programs. Are you planning to apply to both programs and, if so, with what organization(s)?
  • What does making this project happen mean to you?

I believe that this is related to Google-Summer-of-Code, so I'm adding related tag, and also MediaWiki-extensions-Page_Forms as this task is related to work on extension.

@Emon2058 - I am sorry to do this, but please don't waste time putting together a proposal for this project. Anyone who has not contacted me already has no chance of getting accepted for this project.

How can I reach out to you @Yaron_Koren

@Olawanlejoel: There is usually no reason to reach out to individuals (apart from individual mentorship programs). See https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:Page_Forms for the project's communication channels.

@Olawanlejoel (and anyone else) - there are two candidates for this project who contacted me a while ago, and who have each done a number of microtasks. I'm really only considering those two candidates. I know a bunch of other people created proposals for this project, but I'm not considering anyone else. Sorry to all the people who put in the effort to create a proposal.

@Emon2058 We are sorry to say that we could not allocate a slot for you this time. All participants were required to follow Wikimedia’s application process. We noticed that you missed a few steps, which was likely the reason for our decision. Please know that you are still a valued member of our community and we by no means want to exclude you. Many students who we did not accept in 2019 have become Wikimedia maintainers, contractors and even GSoC students and mentors this year!

The recommended place for you to get started as a newcomer is https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/New_Developers. Feel free to reach out to us if you have any questions or need help. The best place to contact us would be Wikimedia’s Zulip: https://wikimedia.zulipchat.com/ :)

If you would still be eligible for GSoC next year, we look forward to your participation!
