Top margin for ol element is currently set to 0.3em, in Vector skin at least. In columns this margin apparently applies only to the first column and so columns of references' list (responsive mode) are not aligned to one another vertically:

In en.wikipedia via "Reflist" wrapper template this top margin is reset to zero. I think it would make sense to make columns of references' list aligned in similar manner when not using wrapper template, too.
