API Portal: Discuss HTML fallback when JavaScript is not enabled
Open, LowPublic

Description

The API Portal skin (WikimediaApiPortal) uses JavaScript for core functionality without providing fallback content for cases in which JavaScript isn't available. The purpose of this task is to discuss HTML fallback for the API Portal in terms of costs, benefits, and prioritization. At a minimum, the API Portal should document that JS is required to use the site.

Costs
  • Unknown development effort to add support for using the site without JavaScript
Benefits
  • Ability to serve users with JavaScript disabled
Prioritization

We should look at addressing this after the initial launch of the Portal.
