Timed Text breaks temporal playback
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

When you have a temporal media fragment, such as displayed at: http://prototype.wikimedia.org/timedmedia/Main_Page#Temporal_media_fragments

The playback doesn't stop after 20 seconds if Timed Text is running. It stops the video, but the Timed Text track keeps running all the way to the end.

I can't seem to recreate in firefox or chrome.. Need to find a mac so I can try it with safari 5. Its an odd error since the timed text is driven by the video time, so I don't see how it could "keep running all the way to the end"

Testcase missing nowadays...
DJ: Is there any testcase (or is this still an issue, if you know)?

No idea, safari hasn't been supported for a while, so I haven't used TMH if I'm totally honest. This could have been a Safari only issue.

[As per bug 54063 comment 2 tentatively moving to TimedMediaHandler component + setting to lowest priority && unconfirmed, as this was filed against old code. Might be worth to just close if nobody confirms that this is still a problem.]

Works with the native player in Google Chrome. Going back in my mind, I think it was only a problem on Safari + Cortado. We never figured out if it was a Cortado or a Safari problem though. Since Cortado on Safari doesn't work it's gonna be difficult to pinpoint and test it

(actually all video playback attempts on Safari at this moment seems to throw exceptions, I'll file a bug about that).

No more Cortado, no more problems
