For the record, SRE is aware of this change (and supports it). Right now, SRE-Access-Requests is used for it (mixing SSH requests and Google Console ones), which has caused confusion with how to be handled by SREs.
Glad to see this, as this has been a constant source of confusion.
I merged T290711: Clarify where to request adding a site to Google Search Console / Google News feed and who to handle into T303513: Update Documentation and Process for Access to Search Consoles, and added some comments on T303513, because discoverability of processes.

I took the liberty to edit https://wikitech.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?title=Search_Console_Data&type=revision&diff=1971247&oldid=1960659
(For the records, I also silently updated the project tags of 22 existing search console tickets so traces of the past can be found easier).
Thank you again, I was thinking of doing the same, you were faster and more efficient being able to do it silently!
