Mark notifications as read when ctrl or shift clicking on them
Open, Needs TriagePublicFeature

Description

Feature summary (what you would like to be able to do and where):

When I ctrl-click or shift-click on a notfication, it should mark itself as read in the notification list.

Use case(s) (list the steps that you performed to discover that problem, and describe the actual underlying problem which you want to solve. Do not describe only a solution):

When I ctrl-click on notifications currently from the top bar dialog and am directed to the page in another window or tab. However when I return to the original tab, it's really weird and annoying to see that they aren't marked as read in the notification list even though I clicked on them. Therefore, I usually manually mark them as read after doing this in order to get rid of them in the current tab which is annoying to do.

Benefits (why should this be implemented?):

Better user experience.

They are marked read (it happens via an URL parameter, not related to how you click), but the UI is not updated. I guess that could be done from a click handled but it seems messy as you don't know whether the notification was actually read (e.g. the user might not be logged in on the target wiki).

It isn't.
