Proposal for Queerlit ID as a property.

We can develop this task into several events through the connection to projekt hbtqi and Swedish libraries. Possibility to arrange edit-a-thons and workshops around the data. There is also a request about how bibliographies should look on Swedish Wikipedia - here we have an opportunity to actively work towards a solution to this issue and perhaps test an automated list from Wikidata?

We are investigating and planning for an upload of the QLIT Libris database.

A property, P11852, is created. Next step is to download the database and upload it to Wikidata and inform others about the possibilities around the new open information – such as a blog post, blog post working document.

There are different ways to add bibliographies to author biographies on Swedish Wikipedia. There have been questions about how this can be done in a good way so that an accepted practice is created. With an upload of books and authors from Queerlit, we could have a good case to work with here for people in the library sector. For example in data- and edit-a-thons in connection with Projekt hbtqi

Staff at Queerlit can also be invited to T331447.

Mail from S with a question about if we can upload Queerlit to Wikidata. T will give an answer back that we will look into and ask for a fresh file for upload. Property P11852 ready for use. Start with Queer Literature Indexing Thesaurus (QLIT) – the thesaurus with around 800 words.

Next meeting Thursday 29 Novmber 2023. We have received a file with the subject words – QLIT.

Write a descriptive blog post in connection with the upload and when Mix'n'Match catalog 6122 is ready. We have got the books via a SPARQL from Libris.

@Alicia_Fagerving_WMSE 900 subject terms from Queerlit are now uploaded to Wikidata and matched with QLIT ID (property talk). Descriptions in more languages and if possible an identifier from, for example, Homosaurus can be added + reference URL to the term. This opens up for Wikidata workshops and edit-a-thons, with for example Project HBTQI – preferably to discuss issues and clear up possible misinterpretations.

We are planning to work more on this in 2025 (uploading the bibliographical data of the books in the Queerlit dataset in Libris). Since the property has been created and filled, this task can be completed.
