Request increased quota for add-text Toolforge tool
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

Tool Name: add-text
Quota increase requested: +13 CPU, +16GbRAM, +20 Gb storage size
Reason: I want to generate a large amount of PDF files for Wikimedia Commons. Past contributions: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Special:Contributions/Wmr-bot

Event Timeline

Our workers only have 16G of ram, so even increasing the quota will not give you more than that per job, do you need the quota to run many things at the same time or one big process?

I want to run many things at the same time. Thanks.

I can't find a tool with the specific name of wmr-bot. @wmr do you know the name of your tool within toolforge?

Based on https://ldap.toolforge.org/user/wmr-bot I believe the tool name is "add-text"

That matches with https://wikitech.wikimedia.org/wiki/User:Wmr-bot as well.

I've increased your quota within kubernetes.

limits.cpu: 16
limits.memory: 24G

I'm not sure what the the additional request for storage is referring to. What storage? See https://wikitech.wikimedia.org/wiki/Help:Toolforge/Kubernetes#Quotas_and_Resources for more information about container size limits, and options available for storage such as NFS and toolsdb.
